I like the apartment where I live. It’s very affordable and it’s perfectly located near both of my jobs. The neighbors are great and it’s super quiet making it the perfect place for me to study. It also has all utilities paid (including Internet access) so I don’t have to worry about insane electric bills during the intensely hot and humid summer months in Houston. All fantastic reasons to live here.
But, the management is so strict about not making any modifications to the structure (I was thinking no nail holes in the walls for pictures), they won’t even allow tenants to obtain Internet access from an outside company because it would require cable to be run outside and a hole to be drilled in the apartment wall to feed the cable in to the router. Yeah, that’s a bit much.
For the past few months, I’ve been trying to deal with connectivity speeds that make getting anything done a huge pain. I had reached the point I was going to just move so I could get my own Internet access and actually be able to study again.
Fortunately, I think I’ve finally found the solution to this problem. Once I’ve had a chance to test things out, I’ll post about it.
